Wowzer. WOWZER. WOWZER!!!!! The further I walked in this interesting and unique home, the more I fell in love! It seemed to go on and on and on and delightfully so. With 3,494 square feet, maybe it does!
On the first floor, there was a formal entry, living room, dining room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. On the lower level, I found a huge den and extra room that the current tenants are using for their exercise room. They're even leaving the main piece of workout equipment for the new buyers! And upstairs on the second floor? 3 more large bedrooms and 1 3/4 bathrooms!
On top of all that, the front yard of this sweet 1/2 acre gem is easy maintenance and the back yard is full of grass, flowering plants, a garden area, a hot tub, and a built-in barbecue. Plus there's a ton of extra storage. WOWZER, INDEED!
It's definitely a grand home for a large family or a multigenerational family with kids or grandkids along with elderly parents. You'd certainly be able to accomodate several family members and still have the privacy that is often missing with smaller homes and large families.
The only thing I was disappointed about was that, like so many other builders, they didn't use some basic practical universal design elements like putting a shower in the bathroom on the main floor. If you have an elderly parent living with you in this home, they would need to go upstairs to shower. I wouldn't do that because of my sweet mom being a bit wobbly. But I'm finding that many families visiting at my open houses with their senior parents are open to doing that. They realize that most houses follow this pattern and they are ready, willing, and able to make some adjustments down the road – from simplifying bath procedures to adding a shower if need be. And I have to say, the shower upstairs is gorgeous, and easily accessible for elderly seniors. Hooray!
I was just talking about that with one such client this week and we shared some tips for simplification, including No-Rinse bathing products. It's not as easy as a shower on the main floor, but it is definitely doable. And check out the kitchen as well! It's big with plenty of storage.
And it has this cute wall hanging – perfect to wish you Happy Pink Saturday and Happy Anything Blue Friday.
Wasn't this a fun house to visit? I thoroughly enjoyed it as well! AND enjoyed the tasty goodies I found for the real estate broker's tour. A sweet delight, indeed. Have a grand week, y'all.
P.S. This lovely house is no longer available but there are probably other great homes with multigenerational options. Interested? Call Kaye at 657-229-5293, email me at Kaye@KayeSwain.com, or just click on the house below.
