Moving to a new home is not easy. Moving to a whole new state is even tougher. Throw in helping elderly parents in the process, maybe a grandkid or two, and you have a whole "passel" of the Sandwich Generation moving issues! I totally understand and thoroughly enjoyed using these ginormous Koi fish to share words of encouragemnt with you!

Whether then you eat or drink or provide caregiving for elderly
parents or babysit grandkids or work at your job or move to a new
home, do ALL to the glory of God

Life in the Sandwich Generation ain't easy – and neither is moving! But when we make God the primary focus of our lives, it makes all the difference in the world!

Say it Saturday has news and fun info for boomers and seniors and is a delightful place to visit each week

Fun for grandparents whether at home or out and about at the Grand Social

P.S. I can also help you with the nitty gritty details of buying or selling your home as part of the move. If you are here in Roseville, CA, CALL KAYE at 657-229-KAYE or email me at Kaye@KayeSwain.com – if you live elsewhere, I'd still love to help you find a good agent in YOUR neck of the woods. So do give me a buzz. And enjoy the words of encouragement. 🙂

I've been so blessed as I've been reading 90 Days of God's Goodness by Randy Alcorn – one of the best Christian devotions books I've read. It's been very encouraging to me as I've been reading his thoughts and seeing the comforting Bible verses he selected to encourage those of all ages, from young adults to senior citizens, going through various trials full of pain and suffering, grief and loss. I chose these encouraging Scriptures from the book for Word-Filled Wednesday, as they are such a great reminder for all of us in the Sandwich Generation.

These encouraging Bible verses remind the Sandwich Generation to keep real estate needs and issues in their proper priority

Since, then, you have been raised with Christ set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, Who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory! Colossians 3:1-4

One of the sweet quotes from it, that especially touched this Sandwich Generation grandma's heart, was from the story about Randy Alcorn's own senior mom:

For Christians, death is not a wall but a doorway. Death is not a last good-bye but a "See you later." When my mother died, it felt like part of me went to Heaven with her. After Mom's death, I returned from my parents' house…and woke…my groggy not-quite-three-year-old daughter, "Do you know where Grandma Alcorn is right now?"

Karina smiled and said, "Yes, Daddy – she's in Heaven."

Many people put so much time and energy into dealing with the division of their estates when they are gone, and that is important. But what a wonderful "spiritual estate" this grandma has left in the life of her sweet grandchild, as well as her son, whose books have touched the hearts of so many for the Lord. And what a wonderful goal for all of us in the Sandwich Generation – to touch the lives of our families for God in big and little ways each day, whether by reading to them about the Lord or ministering to them as we help them take care of their homes, or whatever specific directions the Lord leads us in.  🙂
