What a lovely way to follow the wise advice in Philippians 4:4-8:
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things.
Having encouraging and comforting Bible verses on the walls of our homes is wonderful in the best of times. It's a special blessing for those of us who may be dealing with grief and loss as part of the Sandwich Generation issues of life. I so appreciate Paul's wise words in this book in the Epistles and did my best to follow it during the difficult seasons of my life after the death of my husband and when my family was dealing with the grief of having my senior dad in hospice at our home, followed by his leaving us for heaven. I kept encouraging praise and worship hymn songs and music playing, spent extra time in the Word of God, and hung even more comforting Bible verses all around the house so that they would catch my eye as I walked by. It truly blessed me! And continues to do so.
