Remodeling a Small Bedroom to Turn a Sickroom Into An Encouragement Room

A merry heart doeth good like a medicine Proverbs 17 22 sm

Let's not just talk about love; let's practice real love.

1 John 3:18 (MESS)

Welcome to a very special Miracle Party post at SandwichINK Real Estate Info, which is being hosted by Kelee Katillac and Guideposts Magazine! Kelee is a fellow blogger with a gift for giving, along with awesome creative design skills. She heard about Colette Gauthier, recently diagnosed with cancer, whose doctor had just told her that she had a 5-15% chance of survival.

Kelee teamed up with Guideposts and a great team of helpers  and used their wonderful talents for remodeling a small bedroom in Colette's rental house, turning it from a bleak and dingy sickroom into a beautiful and encouraging bedroom which "dramatically helped her through chemotherapy. The restored and renewed space filled her with hope." The video, which documents the story and shares plenty of delightful and encouraging bedroom decor ideas, and the room itself are "great visual reminders that healing is possible for our homes and lives….that miracles do happen!"

What an uplifting story and video (it may take a couple of seconds to load):

Wasn't that terrific! But wait, she's not done! She wants to do it again for others! And you can help her make a big difference very easily. Just pop over to The Katillac Shack and leave a comment. 1 Comment from you earns a $1.00 Donation from Design Gives Back in your name to be given to the next makeover project for someone-in-need. And if you visit the four other blogs listed there, that $1 will turn into $5. Plus, if you sign up for Kelee's free email, you'll increase the amount of the donation even more.

For many of us in the Sandwich Generation, busy caring for elderly parents, helping with the grandchildren, and watching over their yard and real estate needs, finding ways to reach out to minister to others can be a struggle. But this is something most of us CAN do quite easily. AND be blessed ourselves in the process. Blessed by the giving AND blessed by the fun contests Kelee is offering as part of her MIRACLE PARTY in conjunction with Guideposts Magazine. And don't forget to visit Spiritual Sunday as well, for more Miracle Party joy-full fun, along with wonderfully encouraging Bible verses and delightful praise and worship musicJoin us, won't you 🙂

Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."

I'm thankful to God for so many things! I'm thankful that, in spite of all the heat in Kentucky and most of the United States, my senior mom's gardening projects are doing GREAT!

I am thankful my easy to use digital camera has the proof that my senior moms gardening is both fun phsysical senior citizen activities and very tasty and productive

Gardening chores can be fun and physical senior citizen activities and I'm thankful she enjoys them and is able to do them.

Love the blue faux snake to keep the cute red and brown Kentucky Northern Cardinal Birds from eating her vegetables

I'm thankful for the great example my sweet senior mom sets for her great-grandchildren by putting out food and water for all the lovely Kentucky birds in our back yard – her favorite being the gorgeous male Northern Red Cardinal who occasionally will reward her with a song! (I'm going to get his photo one of these days. 🙂 )

I am thankful for a sweet senior mom who helps me with my gardening and gives water to the lovely Kentucky birds in our backyard - such as the Cardinal who may thank her with a song

I'm thankful for the Compact Guide to Kentucky Birds that I found for my mom. She's really enjoying it.

The birds of Kentucky include the lovely red Northern Cardinal

I'm thankful that the fun Sunflower House we planted for the grandchildren is thriving and intriguing.

Love the Sunflower House and all the lovely sunflowers

And, I'm thankful I discovered some great blog get-togethers to join up with this week – Thankful Thursday at Greg's General Store, Fertilize Friday/Flaunt Your Flowers at Tootsie Time, and Blue Monday at Smiling Sally's  – (don't you love the cute blue faux snakes my senior mom uses to protect her gardening projects – all the while, she's busy giving them their own food and water! 🙂 ). They have some more great posts to share – just click on their name or their button in the far right column. 🙂

And, I'd love for you to sign up for the FREE SandwichINK Real Estate Info email…
