Make sure you find out what type of energy or fuel is used to heat the house. This is especially important if you or an elderly parent is moving and buying a house in a new area. When I moved from the West Coast to the East Coast, I discovered heat pumps. I'd never heard of those before. A propane heater is something else that many might not be familiar with. My personal favorite, a natural gas heater, could be someone else's least favorite. And what may be easy for you to deal with, could be very stressful and difficult for an aging parent who is already stressed over making a major move.
